By taking these three steps, you can make the most important decision or your life – to accept Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord, and receive His gift of forgiveness for your sins.
Admit to God that you are a sinner. Repent, turning away from your sin.
Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
Romans 6:23 "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
By faith receive Jesus Christ as God’s Son and accept Jesus’ gift of forgiveness from sin.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 14:6 "Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Ephesians 2:8-9 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast."
Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
Romans 10:9-10 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
If you choose right now to believe Jesus dies for your sins and to receive new life through Him, pray a prayer similar to the one that follows, as you call on Him, and Him alone to be your Savior and Lord:
"Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and have rebelled against You in many ways. I believe Jesus died for my sin and that only through faith in His death and resurrection can I be forgiven. I now turn from my sin and ask Jesus to come into my life as my Savior and Lord. From this day forward, I will choose to follow Jesus. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for loving me and for forgiving me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen."
After you have received Jesus Christ into your life, share your decision with another person. The way to grow as a Christian is by praying regularly, studying God’s word daily, and becoming involved in a church. Our Pastor, Bro. David, would be happy to talk with you about your decision and about finding the right church for you.
